Late night lemon painting

I've been working on my lemon painting again tonight.  I tend to listen to music when I paint.  Tonight I was listening to a little of the Ethiopian singer Gigi as well as Bob Dylan and CBC radio's As It Happens - The Midnight Edition.  I tend to listen to music or the radio when I paint...

For this coat of the painting I'm starting to really model the form of the lemons, it's lots of fun :)

Here are some photos from tonight.

Start of third coat on the lemons and black background

Working alone slowly :)  It's a very meditative state I get in when painting, very focused and relaxed.
Done for the night.  This was around 5 hours of painting.

Lemon painting

My goal with my blog is to post different work in progress and some of my thoughts about art and life :)

Here is an image of what is on my easel at the moment.
For a step-by-step demo of a similar painting of mine you might enjoy this http://www.noahlayne.com/PaintingDemo.html

This is just the second coat and I haven't started to model the form in much detail yet....

I'll try to post more as this painting develops :)
